ANSWER
This error indicates that API reference for signal load in the Damper Controller Configuration Setup does not match that in Station Manager.
In Station Manager go to the Display menu > Station Setup > Channels. Check the names of your channel and control modes. In this case the channels signals names were Axial Displacement and Axial Force (Figure 1).
Figure 1– Station Setup channel signal names
Open the MTS Damper Controller Configuration Setup. Go to the Edit menu > Edit (Figure 2)
Figure 2 - MTS Damper Controller Configuration Setup
In the Control Channel Parameters window make sure that the AP I Channel Name and associated signals are the same as in Station Setup in Station Manager; Axial Displacement and Axial Load (Figure 3).

Note: If needed you can click on any of the control mode names and then the Edit button to assign the correct API reference (Figure 4).
Figure 4 – Assigning API reference Force to Main Feedback Axial Load
Return to the MTS Damper Controller Configuration Setup window (Figure 5).
Figure 5 - MTS Damper Controller Configuration Setup.
Go to the Edit menu > Signal > Edit (Figure 6).

In this case the API reference associated with Signal Name Axial load was not found. It should be Axial Force but instead was Axial Output (Figure 7).

To correct the problem you must first click OK then use the API Reference drop-down menu and select Axial Force and click the OK button again (Figure 8).
