Could not load file or assembly ‘MTS.TestSuite.Common.Vido.x64.dll or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found.

Installer gets the followinig error window message after installing TestSuite software (Figure 1):

The application could not be started due to an error “Could not load file or assembly ‘MTS.TestSuite.Common.Vido.x64.dll or one of its dependencies.  The specified module could  not be found.”. See the log file for more details. Re-install MTS TestSuite or install prerequisite Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x86).

Re-installing the MTS software and the MS Visual C++ Redistributable does not fix the problem.  Morever, the purported missing file "MTS.TestSuite.Common.Video.x64.dll" exists under C:\Program Files (x86)\MTS Systems\MTS TestSuite\ folder (Figure 2).

There are a couple of possible solutions.

  • If the computer has Windows 10 N Edition, load the Windows media pack features. Helpful links below:

  • If the computer already has 2013 or 2015 versions of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) packages installed, remove them, then reinstall TestSuite (Figure 1).  If both the 2013 and 2015 versions are installed start by removing the 2015 version first, then the 2013 version if required.  The TestSuite installer will be prompted to put the component back which should fix the problem.
