TestSuite crashes when selecting a block profile for a profile process that has actions in it.

PROBLEM

TestSuite crashes when selecting a block profile for a profile process that has actions in it.

Example:

I use “Counter1” in an Action List in the variable counter function in MPE which needs the single quotation “XX” format. However, when I import my block profile (.blk) as a text file (.txt) to Excel to make changes it adds too many quotation marks so when the text file (.txt) is saved and converted again to a (.blk) file it will crash due to the incorrect syntax when trying to select it for a profile command in TestSuite (Figures 1 & 2).

ANSWER

After you import your text file to Excel you can use the method below in Excel to change each field to the proper syntax quickly before saving as a text file (.txt) then converting back to a block profile (.blk) (Figure 1).

  1. Go to Home > Find & Select > Replace
  2. Enter what you want to find in Find what and what you want to replace it with in Replace with.
  3. Choose Replace or Replace All
