Will an extensometer in a vacuum affect its accuracy or functionality?

QUESTION

Will an extensometer in a vacuum affect its accuracy or functionality?

ANSWER

It should not affect the accuracy but a user may notice change in output due to out gassing as the chamber is pulling the vacuum.  The user should wait until output stabilizes before beginning a test for maximum accuracy.
