In what direction should a load cell be mounted?

 

ANSWER

 

You can’t go by the orientation of the label.  What’s important is that the mounting base is facing towards the mounting surface and the reaction base if facing towards the specimen.  In the image below the mounting base is the semi-conical solid side of the load cell (Figure 1).  Load cells may not look the same but would have a similar mounting base side.
